New Building 2014 – Animal Shelter
The Delta Animal Shelter was in desperate need for a new updated, safe and functional building for the animals, as well as the volunteers and employees who care for them. The building was designed to meet all of the shelter’s current needs as well as anticipated future needs.
This project started off with two 3D renderings that we completed for capital campaign fund raising events and to gain project support.
The 8,798 sq. ft. facility boasts 35 rooms and includes a covered entrance, large welcoming lobby with a retail area, 2 offices, 2 ADA bathrooms and an intake room. There is a conference room, a staff break room with a separate bathroom, laundry room, linen storage, a general workroom, grooming and bathing room, and a medical area complete with its own surgery. It also has a large storage room, a food preparation room and a secure night drop off area. The feline area has 4 rooms to house animals, an isolation room, a play room, and a visitation room. The canine area has an indoor exercise area, 25 dog kennels, each with a separate outdoor run, an isolation area and separate visitation room.
The project included complete building design services, including structural, architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
